In the third quarter of 2022, the top 5 Film & Television applications in Oman—Shahid, OSN+, Netflix, Disney+, and Noor Play—demonstrated distinct trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance.

Shahid from MBC Group saw a consistent increase in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $7.2K at the end of June and peaking at around $10.9K in early September. Weekly downloads for the app fluctuated, reaching a high of about 3K in early August before declining to around 1.7K by the end of September. Weekly active users showed a gradual decline from nearly 23.8K in late June to just over 20.9K by the end of the quarter.

OSN+ by Anghami experienced an upward trend in weekly revenue, moving from around $2.2K in late June to approximately $4.4K by the end of September. Downloads peaked at over 6K in late August but dropped to about 1.5K by the end of the quarter. The app's active users increased significantly from around 11.6K in late June to a peak of over 21.4K in late August before settling at approximately 12.7K by the end of September.

Netflix maintained relatively stable weekly revenue throughout the quarter, ranging between $2K and $2.8K. Download numbers hovered around 3.5K in late June, peaking at nearly 3.8K in early August, and then gradually decreased to about 2.5K by the end of September. The number of active users fluctuated slightly but remained high, starting from about 165.5K in late June and ending at approximately 147.3K by the end of the quarter.

Disney+ saw significant variability in weekly revenue, beginning at just under $1K in late June and reaching a peak of over $3.1K in early August. Weekly downloads showed a similar trend, with a peak of about 4.3K in late August and a decline to approximately 1.8K by the end of September. Active users increased from about 8K in late June to a peak of over 15K in late August, before stabilizing at around 12.6K by the end of the quarter.

Noor Play from MITHAQ MEDIA PRODUCTION LIMITED had a steady weekly revenue, averaging around $1.5K across the quarter. Downloads remained relatively stable, averaging around 650 per week. Active users showed a slight increase from approximately 1.8K in late June to about 2K in mid-September, before settling back to around 1.8K by the end of the quarter.
